JACK SEGAL, songwriter of "When Sunny Gets Blue", "Scarlet Ribbons", "When Joanna Loved Me", "Laughing Boy", "You Wear Love So Well" and "Where You At?", was considered ahead of his time for the songs he created with George Handy. Johnny Mercer, an early producer of Jack's work, sponsored him for ASCAP in 1947. The songs he created in the 50's and 60's and as late as 1984 have become evergreens, which are constantly covered by recording artists to this day.
, a past student of Jack Segal's, is a staff-songwriter/producer for Dreamworks SKG, whose songs have been recorded by Lee Greenwood, John Berry and MCA recording artist Lee Ann Womack, whose upcoming album, "A Season For Romance" contains two songs penned by Swann, one being the title track. A speaker for NSAI, BMI, ASCAP, SOCAN as well as teaching a course for UCLA, Phil is a pro-active board member of the Songwriters Guild of America.
