Rick Carnes, president of the Songwriters' Guild of America and a professional songwriter for 23 years, has written for Sony Music International, Elektra Asylum Music, and Peer Music International. He also has been a recording artist for Warner Brothers, MCA, and Elektra Asylum Records. A native of Memphis, Carnes moved to Nashville in 1978 with his wife, Janis, and the duo signed their first record deal. Rick had a single on Steve Wariner and Garth Brooks called "Burnin' the Roadhouse Down", the title cut off Steve's last album.

In '83, Rick wrote Reba McEntire's first #1 hit, "I Can't Even Get The Blues No More" and co-wrote with his wife Janis and Chip Harding three top ten hits for The Whites "You Put The Blue In Me," Hangin' Around" and "Pins and Needles". Rick also had success with album cuts on such artists as Conway Twitty, Karen Brooks, Loretta Lynn, Lacy J. Dalton, Johnny Rodriguez, Janie Fricke, Ronnie McDowell, T.G. Shepard, Pam Tillis and the Garth Brooks single "Long Neck Bottle" has been certified 12 platinum. All in all, Rick has 21 million records sold with tunes he has written or co-written on them.

Helen Slater
Helen Slater's career has encompassed film, tv, music and the theatre. Upon graduating from the famed High School of Performing Arts, her debut film role, opposite Faye Dunaway and Peter O'Toole in "Supergirl", won praise from the most cynical of critics and launched her performing career. She went on to star in such films as "The Legend of Billie Jean," "Ruthless People," "The Secret of my Success," "City Slickers and most recently "Seeing Other People," opposite Jay Mohr, Andy Richter and Josh Charles. She has guest starred on such series as "Seinfeld," "Caroline in the City," and "Will and Grace." A singer /songwriter since her days at the High School of Performing Arts, Helen has performed at clubs and benefits in the Los Angeles area and is the composer of an urban opera, "The Ugly Duckling," which has been presented in workshop form. She recently completed her debut album, One of These Days, produced by Phil Swann.

Brad Roberts

Brad, who was recently flown to Martha's Vineyard to play the Tin Roof, of Carly Simon and James Taylor fame, kicks off a nation wide 30+ date tour with his band at the Hard Rock Cafe in Salt Lake City Utah. A charity event, sponsored by Rock 4 Xmas and the Hard Rock Cafe, Gravity will be crossing the country raising money for over 3000 underprivileged families.


Kathryn Bostic,
a recipient of the Sundance Fellowship for Filmscoring, has composed/arranged music for numerous films, commercials, concerts and plays, including the recent Mark Taper Forum world premiere of The Gem of the Ocean, by award winning playwright August Wilson. Kathryn was commissioned by the Kennedy Center to compose and perform a jazz score for Harlem.

She has also contributed music for the PBS American Experience series on Marcus Garvey. As a vocalist, Kathryn has performed all over the world with her own band and has toured/recorded with numerous artists including k.d. Lang, John Hiatt, The Manhattans, Rod Stewart, and David Byrne. Kathryn is currently in the studio working on her solo project.



Dan Kimpel,
one of the media's foremost authorities on pop music and songwriters, contributes to a variety of print and electronic mediums, including LA's Music Connection. 14 million monthly passengers hear Kimpel's interviews with songwriters and recording artists on United Airlines flights. Author of the best-selling book, Networking in the Music Business, Dan has taught a course based on this text at Sir Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts since 1998 Dan has produced concerts and events with Sheryl Crow, Sting, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Quincy Jones, Tom Petty, Burt Bacharach, Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Glen Ballard and Diane Warren.
